Astral Lab Accommodations:

  • Water

    • The camp organizers will bring a 275 gallon fresh water tank that will be filled upon arrival by an approved outside service.

    • The water will be potable, however we ask that all camp participants practice radical SELF-RELIENCE and bring their own drinking water, in the case that the fresh water becomes contaminated.

  • Shade:

    • The camp organizers will transport enough shade for all tent campers.

    • We will do our best to bring extra shade cloth to rig up over select vehicles, in the case that you need to camp in your car.

    • The shade will be 70% - 80% UV Resistant Shade Cloth at 8’ tall, using 3/4” EMT conduit with fittings.

    • We use bungie balls to secure the shade cloth to the conduit structure and use ratchet straps and lag bolts to secure the structure to the playa.

  • Shower

    • The camp organizers will bring an shower enclosure, constructed from two stacked IBC totes with a door cut out, and will include a privacy enclosed space.

    • Water will be pumped from a fresh-water IBC tote to a tankless water heater, and from the heater to a low-flow shower head. .

    • The shower includes a drain that will gravity flow directly into a grey water collection tank.

  • Kitchen

    • We will provide one meal per day for each day of the event, prepared by our kitchen team.

    • The camp organizers will bring kitchen equipment and will build a community kitchen for camp participants to utilize for cooking meals, cleaning dishes, etc.

    • Kitchen equipment will include multiple camp stoves, a propane grill, industrial style propane burners, a refrigerator, wash (rinse and sanitize) bins, a drying rack, and table space for eating.

  • Power

    • The camp organizers will provide a large generator that will power the entire camp.

    • Power will be available for purchase for RV power and Tent ACs

    • Power for small electronics, such as phone and laptop charging or other light loads for free.
